I am doing a project at school for National History Day. What is the main legacy Shirley Temple has left us? I need a 500 word essay!

During the Great Depression many people went to the movie theaters to get away from all the troubles. A lot of the movies they saw was with Shirley Temple. I guess you could say that her legacy was an image that helped rebuild our nation by finding the happiness out of the dark times. Hope this helps!

That second picture is of Shirley with William Lyon Mackenzie King, Prime Minister of Canada in the 30's and 40's. In fact it's a shot in front of the House of Commons in Ottawa.
